Where’s our green thumb?

Coventry Garden nf Regular

It’s gotta have all the good stuff too.

  • Green Beans
  • Peas
  • Tomatos
  • Cucumbers
  • Jalepenos
  • Habeneros
  • Lettuce
  • Radishes
  • Some sort of mystery snack Red Pepper

This is how our garden started. Of course this is AFTER the weeks of de-weeding, and bulb digging that the previous owners had let run rampant. I mean, how many surprise lillies do you need in one bed? Lets get it together.

And it grew and grew. And eventually, we needed trellises. Unfortunately, they cost a fortune. Also, they won’t fit in my caliber. Like, that’s the real problem here. But we’d recently had some branches down after a storm (which knocked over one of my cucumber plants, but whatever I’m not bitter) and a thought came to mind.

So I grabbed some of my zip ties, and tried to work out a little something something to get us by. I actually turned out well enough that that’s what we kept and used for all of the plants!

We’ve made a lot of rookie mistakes for out first garden. We planted radishes and lettuce to late, they didn’t produce. I was adamant that I didn’t want to use insecticides (mainly because I don’t want to be patient and wash veggies off just eat them right out of the garden) and so far that seems to be a decision we haven’t regretted.
